We regularly organize workshops Painting Fans on the southern Spanish coast near the town of Chiclana de la Frontera (province of Cádiz, Andalusia).


The workshop is led by the designer of the fans on this site. She has followed the one and only existing course to become the title of fan designer at the School of Arts in Cádiz, Spain.
Participation is open to anyone who is artistic and creative. Both beginners and advanced students are welcome.

Transport
There are good connections between the airports in Spain and Cádiz. There are many flights going to Seville or Jerez de la Frontera. You can rent a car at the airport. If you don't wish to rent a car we can provide transportation to / from your accommodation from the airports of Jerez and Seville.

The workshop
The workshop consists of at least four and a maximum of seven participants. We will finish the workshop with a nice exhibition of our fans while enjoying tapas and a Spanish wine.

The participants work in the studio on their fans in an informal and relaxed atmosphere, from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 17:00. The materials we work with are included in the price. After lunch we continue with the fans. But it is also possible to cool off in the sea (20 minutes distance) or explore the magnificent surroundings. But that is up to you.

Prices
The price depends on the amount of days and participants. The price will include guidance, lunch, materials and the use of tools. Included is also a lecture with video and / or film about the history of art with special emphasis on the fan.

Stay
We can assist you in finding a guesthouse. Often there are chalets available with private pool. In addition, there are many hotels in the more expensive, but also in the cheaper class.

Location
The workshop will be located in Atelier Mies (www.atelier-mies.weebly.com) in the city of Chiclana de la Frontera.
Chiclana de la Frontera is a city with a rural character with about 86 thousand inhabitants. That number quadruples in the summer because of the beautiful sandy beaches on the ocean. Originally it was a wine area, but gradually this area moved towards tourism. There are also beautiful hotels along the beach La Barrosa.
The rural zone in Chiclana is outstretched. Large fields of fighting bulls, cows, storks, partridges and rabbits.
